New stuff!

Today we’d like to draw your attention to two clips we have recently added to our own YouTube channel. The first is from the winner of Idols 2008 in Finland, Koop Arponen. His video is a request telling us who he wants to see next and his choice is…interesting. The second video is some extra footage from near the start of the Gone Fishing shoot. In this clip you’ll see Jyrki struggling with handing the fishing rod and making light of the situation. Stay tuned to the Gone Fishing YouTube channel for more content in the near future!

Finally, don’t forget to enter our competition to win the hardest rocking one of a kind fishing lure, signed by the star of the show Jyrki69.

When in Rome...

Hello from Gone Fishing! As part of creating the Gone Fishing Experience, it was important we had expert help regarding fishing. As Jyrki said during the show, you really are at the mercy of nature. The Gone Fishing team enlisted the help of the one and only Mika Viitanen from the highly experienced Fishing Lords. Mika understands much about the archipelago and fishing, spending as much as one third of the year out on the water. If you ever find yourself in Finland, with a desire to go fishing, drop by the Fishing Lord’s and say hi to Mika from us.

One other thing we’ve recently put up is an embeddable YouTube player which you can add to your own website, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, forum or pretty much anywhere you like. This player will automatically display various Gone Fishing videos including new content as we add it to our YouTube channel, you won’t need to do anything! You’ll find the HTML embed code over on the left hand side of this very site.

The star of the show

Today we thought we would share a little information on the star of our current Gone Fishing show, Jyrki69. Who is this guy and what are the band like? Well the first port of call for the music is the official 69 Eyes Myspace where you can listen to a few of their tracks, photos and videos. As well as being the lead singer for the band, Jyrki has a Master’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry, is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and is also campaigning to help clean up the Baltic Sea. Jyrki describes the band’s music as ‘Goth n Roll’, representing urban rock and refers to the group as Helsinki vampires. Oh, and he’s not bad at fishing!

Welcome to Gone Fishing!

Welcome to Gone Fishing! If you’re reading this then congratulations, as you’ve stumbled upon the site before it really gets going. In mere days, we’re excited to be launching our online exclusive show “Gone Fishing”. We like to think of it as both the hardest rocking fishing show and the most relaxed rock show around. The current show features rocker Jyrki69 from the 69 Eyes. When can you see it? Well the Gone Fishing Experience launches officially on 15th January, and the promo trailer should be available to view now. The show will be shown exclusively online. We hope that you’ll check it out when it launches and let us know what you think of it.
