Mission
Loiste is a responsible innovator in the energy infrastructure in Kainuu. Our mission is to produce and supply electricity and heat to all customers in our region on an equal basis.
We are responsible for electricity distribution in the whole of Kainuu and part of North Ostrobothnia, district heat production, distribution and sales in the municipalities of Kajaani, Otanmäki and Vuolijoki, and from the hydroelectric power plants we own or operate.
It is important for us to work closely with different stakeholders to increase the use of climate-friendly electricity and heat and enable the transition towards renewable energy production.
We maintain and develop our electricity network to meet today’s and tomorrow’s needs and local conditions. We prepare for power outages caused by weather events by maintaining constant monitoring and fault repair capability of the grid to minimise the disruption to customers.
We enable our customers to have access to carbon neutral district heating by investing in renewable energy sources. We take care of the distribution of electricity and district heat, and the construction, operation and maintenance of the distribution networks needed to support them. We are also responsible for managing electricity and district heating services and the partners who provide them.
